Preparing for Your Permanent Makeup Appointment
Proper preparation is essential to achieve the best results from your permanent makeup procedure. Follow these steps to ensure your skin is ready and the healing process goes smoothly.
Before Your Appointment
2–3 Weeks Before:
Avoid chemical peels, laser treatments, and any intense facial treatments in the brow area.
Discontinue retinol, Vitamin A, or other exfoliating skincare products.
1 Week Before:
Stop taking blood-thinning medications like aspirin or ibuprofen (unless prescribed by your doctor).
Avoid alcohol and caffeine, as they can increase sensitivity and bleeding.
Refrain from waxing, threading, or tinting your brows.
48 Hours Before:
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds. Sunburned skin is sensitive and not ideal for the procedure.
Day of the Appointment:
Come with clean, makeup-free skin. Avoid using moisturizers or oils on the treatment area.
Stay hydrated and have a light meal before your appointment to maintain your comfort.n Advance...
Aftercare Instructions for Permanent Makeup
Taking care of your brows after the procedure is just as important as the preparation. Following these guidelines will ensure optimal healing and long-lasting results.
Day 1: The Healing Begins
Gently blot the area with a clean tissue to remove lymph fluid every hour. This helps prevent scabbing.
Avoid washing the brows with water or applying any products for the first 24 hours.
Days 2–7: Protect and Nourish
Clean the area gently with a damp cotton pad or wipe as instructed by your artist.
Apply a thin layer of the recommended healing ointment (if provided) with clean hands. Do not over-apply.
Avoid the following:
Touching, picking, or scratching the treated area.
Makeup, creams, or any skincare products on the brows.
Excessive sweating, saunas, swimming, or hot showers.
Days 7–14: Flaking and Peeling
Your brows may start flaking or scabbing. This is normal! Let the scabs fall off naturally—do not pick at them.
Continue to avoid sun exposure and follow your artist's recommendations for gentle cleaning and care.
Additional Tips for Long-Lasting Results
Avoid direct sunlight and always wear sunscreen once your brows are healed.
Use a gentle cleanser and avoid exfoliating products on the brow area.
Schedule touch-ups as recommended (typically 6–8 weeks after the initial appointment).
